What makes the holidays special?

Christmas is a special time
It brings joy back to life
It gives me hope when hope is lost
It gives me a break from strife
Christmas is a celebration
Of living throughout the year
It’s an accomplishment to survive
In a world that fills you with fear
You’re forgiven for the things you’ve done
You give and you receive
Christmas brings a smile to my face
Though it eventually leaves
It’s special because it’s fleeting
Christmas only comes once a year
It’s here, then it’s gone in the blink of an eye
But to me, it remains dear.
